Friday - 27th April, 2012 - on Monday the Hawks were at home to Monte Mar Torro, but unfortunately they were on the wrong side of a heavy score winning on only one rink and drawing on another.  The overall score was Hawks 3 pts (85shots) to Torro's 11 pts (129 shots).  Our winning trip was Fred Semper, Bill Reeves and John Hurlock 18 - 13, whilst Carol Bellison, Fred Trigwell and Tony Trodd drew 16 all, well done.

The Kestrels were away at La Marina facing the Pilots and what a very close game it was.  We won on three rinks, lost on the other three but two of those were by a single shot and both on the last end.  This gave an overall score of Pilots 6 pts (89 shots) to Kestrels 8 pts (95 shots) with three winning trips being Kath Reid, Tony Burchall and Barry Evans 17 - 13, Vryan Eatough, Ann Allen and Terry Hucknall 15 - 10 and Isabella Keith, Alex Friel and Ray Hartley 19 - 15, great effort and so nearly a much better score line.

Wednesday the Kings Cup team travelled to Vista Bella and this was also very nearly a great score away from home.  We lost on two disciplines but won the other three, losing the overall.  Our winning teams were Ann Allen in the ladies singles 21 - 14, John Bailey, Sue Norris and Barry Norris in the trips 14 - 12 (another last end decider) and finally Wayne Jackson, Roy Collins, Bill Corbishley and Barry Evans in the rinks 17 - 16, so the overall was Vista Bella 6 pts (90 shots) to Horadada 6 pts (74 shots). A very good team effort at a very tricky location, well done everyone.

Friday saw the Hawks at home to La Marina Pilots but again were unfortunate on the day to lose the match, with the overall being Hawks 3 pts (87 shots) to Pilots 11 pts (107 shots) with our winning trip being Peter Pitts, Peter Robinson and Barry Norris 16 - 12, whilst Carol Bellison, Fred Trigwell and Vince Skeel recorded a draw at 18 all.  Carol and Fred involved in two draws this week surely a win is just a match away!

The Kestrels were away that day, in the afternoon, to face Greenlands Glosters and yet another very close game in terms of overall scores ensued, we each won on three rinks.  Our winning trips were Kath Reid, Tony Burchall and Barry Evans 27 - 8,

Isabella Keith, Bill Corbishley and Ray Hartley 23 - 15 and Stan Runchman, John Wilson and Mike Blunt 20 - 14 this gave an overall score as Glosters 8 pts (209 shots) to Kestrels 6 pts (208 shots). Another great effort on the teams travels, we have almost forgotten where our home venue is!

The captain also expressed real gratitude for our friendly team of Jenni Blunt, George Stein and Ian Gillan for making the effort to travel and play, thanks.
